The Mac player for
the films you keep.
Remuxes and 4K HDR play the way they were mastered: the whole picture, every channel of lossless sound, at the film's own frame rate. And your folders become a library with posters, seasons and the place you stopped.
For Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later.

HDR, the way it was graded.
Drag across one frame of a 4K HDR film: on the left as a player without HDR support shows it, on the right as Lumen does.

Nocturne (2018) © Netflix, Inc., CC BY 4.0. Screenshots of one frame, with and without HDR conversion.
HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG
At full brightness on HDR displays, frame by frame where the film says how.
Right on any screen
Screens without real HDR get a careful SDR picture, highlights kept rather than clipped.
MetalFX upscaling
1080p and below drawn sharp at your screen's resolution, not stretched.
The film's frame rate
In full screen Lumen can switch the display to a rate the film's divides evenly, so pans don't judder.

Every channel, as it was mixed.
Lossless soundtracks are decoded in full and reach a surround system as 5.1 or 7.1. On headphones, Lumen places the speakers around you, and the sound objects above them, as the film was mixed.
- Lossless, bit for bit. Nothing thrown away between the disc's soundtrack and your speakers.
- Objects on headphones. Height and moving sounds placed around and above your head.
- Virtual surround. 5.1 and 7.1 as speakers in a room, on any headphones.
- Night mode. Loud scenes down, dialogue up, an equaliser for each output.
Point it at a folder.
Lumen reads names like Sintel.2010.1080p.BluRay.x264.mkv and files them: films with their poster, episodes in their season, short videos in Clips. Nothing to rename, and no account to make.

Every film gets a page.
Plot, cast, the picture and sound each version has, what's been playing, films like it, and the file at the foot.

Discs, as discs.
