Lumen Get early access

Terms of use

Effective 22 October 2026.

These terms are between you and Meru Apps, the maker of Lumen. By using Lumen you agree to them. If you got Lumen from an app store, that store's terms apply too.

Using Lumen

You may install and use Lumen on Macs you own or control. Don't copy, sell or redistribute the app, or remove its notices. The open-source parts inside Lumen keep their own licences, listed in Acknowledgements, and nothing here limits your rights under them.

Your videos

Lumen plays the files and streams you choose. You are responsible for having the right to watch and copy them. Lumen doesn't remove copy protection.

Other services

Features that use other services, such as metadata lookups, subtitle search, media servers, cloud drives, Trakt and Simkl, depend on those services and their terms. They can change or stop at any time, and Meru Apps isn't responsible for them.

Beta builds

Beta builds are for testing. They may have bugs, change or stop working, and may not keep everything when you update.

No warranty

Lumen is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to make it reliable, but we don't promise it will be free of errors or work with every file or device.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, Meru Apps isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of Lumen. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions: meruappsdev@gmail.com.
